Specialising in Captive Bred Tokay Gecko Morphs in the UK

Hello...And Welcome to Tokay Gecko UK!

The purpose of this website is to provide a resource to anyone looking to own a Tokay Gecko and for me to showcase some of my personal collection. I will also be displaying Tokay's that are surplus to my breeding plan's and available for purchase.

The Tokay Gecko (Gecko Gekko) is a large nocturnal species of gecko from South East Asia who's popularity is fast growing, and it's easy to see why! They are the second largest Gecko in the world and have an attitude to go with it. Along with this they are one of the most colourful Gecko's around.

Over the years Tokays have developed a reputation of being an aggressive Gecko that is almost impossible to keep, let alone tame. This has mostly been derived from their defensive attitude coupled with exaggeration of keepers who want to show off how brave they are for owning such an "aggressive" gecko. I would like to dismiss this myth and give people a real and honest view on Tokay Gecko's.

Tokays are famous for having a bright blue base colour with vibrant contrasting orange spots however in recent year's a select few have been imported that display completely different colourations. These genetic morph's are still in the early stages of being proven out which makes it a very exciting time for anyone working with them (I would know!).

Sadly, Most of the Tokays we see in the UK are wild caught and because they are plentiful in the wild they can be very cheap! In my view there are several pitfall's (other than the obvious ethical ones) when it comes to buying a wild caught Tokay, This is discussed

hatchlings in the next couple of months...
